CREE SESSIONS
For Men & Women
Many years ago, the closure of traditional industries and the loss of social facilities greatly reduced contact between men and women alike. For the women there used to be the Mothers’ Club; Drama Group; Whist Drive and for men a choice of 10 pubs/social clubs; the Institute and glass huts on village greens where they could meet to chat and read the daily papers.
COME ALONG & HAVE FUN
CREE sessions, shaped by their attendees, aim to bring people together, creating an opportunity to build friendships and give members of the community a chance to get involved in social and intergenerational activities. The CREE sessions strive to rekindle the community spirit and help you discover new ways to break away from the daily grind in a safe and welcoming environment.

Women’s Cree
The ladies often have an action-packed schedule, enjoying activities such as art & craft, quizzes, pamper days, baking, curling and not forgetting a good game of bingo.
Our women’s cree is held every Wednesday between 2pm and 4pm. You can contact Denise on 0191 5264213 if you would like any further information.

Men’s Cree
The gents enjoy a catch up and occasional reminisce over a cup of tea and a bacon sandwich while playing cards or dominos.
Our men’s cree is held every Tuesday between 11.30 and 12.30. You can contact Denise on 0191 5264213 if you would like any further information.
Outings & Trips
Each year two trips are arranged so that both groups can join together for a day out and about; previous trips have included Bury Market and York.
